About Me

Professional Background

meI have a Bachelors in Marketing from the University of Akron. Immediately after graduating, I was hired at Concentra in Cleveland, Ohio. I moved to the Concentra Dallas office (“corporate”) in 2000, I worked my way up in various departments, and am currently the Director of Learning Program Management and Instructional Design at Concentra. As a member of the learning team, I found my passion specifically around learning technologies and instructional design.  In 2018, I completed my Masters in Learning Technology degree at the University of North Texas to help support my career as a learning leader, and understand more about the future of learning technologies in the workplace.

As a learning leader at Concentra, I manage a department that creates corporate-wide learning programs including the design and development of multi-modal learning delivery. My team also supports the Learning Management System (LMS), and does all training-specific reporting on both compliance and training/evaluation feedback. The instructional design team creates all training-related content from eLearning for the LMS to job aids, workbooks, and other training materials as needed.

As a leader with a passion for driving results, I have executed on strategic goals that are aligned with the overall company strategy around learning and development. The execution of these goals has assisted in our company meeting overall objectives in learning while supporting colleague growth in both skills training and leadership development. I acquired my Lean and Green Belt certifications, and was the project lead of both projects which included the development of process improvements across multiple Concentra departments. I have led multiple Leadership Academy programs that included corporate program and content development, as well as the project management and logistics for 500+ colleagues. I have created role-based orientations, skills training and a Welcome to Concentra orientation for all new hires, which includes a very detailed overview and introduction to the company.

My overall career goal is to advance as a strategic and effective corporate learning leader who is responsible for a learning organization. I am currently focused on learning technology advancements, as I believe that is where the future of corporate learning is progressing.  The main objectives I have in my career are to stay current in the world of learning technology, and continue evolving into a:

  • Highly skilled corporate learning leader who can create dynamic and comprehensive learning programs
  • Leader that grows and develops an innovative and collaborative corporate learning organization who aligns with the company’s strategic business goals
  • Leader of high performing teams that create innovative and strategic learning solutions
  • Leader who develops and grows individual skillsets to engage and retain the best talent
  • Leader who is a trusted resource on the most current trends in the areas of learning technology, learning theory, measurement, and instructional design so that I can bring current and relevant learning solutions to my organization

As learning professionals (especially in the area of learning technology), we must always continue learning ourselves or the world will advance beyond us. The field of learning technology is evolving faster than professionals, educational systems, and corporations can keep up. As Mahatma Gandhi said “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”
